Gossip Nurse here your one and only source in to the scandalous lives of the McGill Nursing Elite. After no exciting recent parties, unless you guys were having your own parties in Schulich, McMed or Redpath, here are more announcements for the next 2 weeks (hopefully you will be done with midterms then). This is a short one, so I tell you SO LONG , break a leg and watch that weight because I know y’all be eating snacks like CRAY while studying. (nuts are good, eat nuts.)

1) Nursing Games
We have the opportunity to send a group of us to Université Laval for THE NURSING GAMES! Check out the attachment for more information. This event will take place from January 25th-27th. Please email me if you have any questions and confirm with me by OCTOBER 22nd if you would like to participate. Please include your student number and your phone number.
2) Sixth Annual Global Health Night – Register now!

3) Scholarship Opportunities
There are three scholarships currently available to McGill Nursing Undergraduate Students:
1) Ingram School of Nursing Alumni Awards (multiple available to undergraduate and graduate students)
2) Maimonides Geriatric Centre Foundation Bursary (1 available to undergraduate and graduate students)
To submit your on-line application(s), follow the personal link sent to you in an email from Ms. Marie-Lee Hendrykowski entitled “Applications for Ingram School of Nursing Alumni Awards, Nessa Leckie Memorial Award, and Maimonides Geriatric Centre Foundation Bursary” (Sent Late-September)
The deadline to complete an application is midnight of October 21, 2012.

Perfect your Nursing CV before the Career Fair on Friday October 26! This presentation will be given by Ms. Janice Tester, a McGill Career Planning Service (CaPS) Counsellor who is an expert in Nursing CVs. Details below:

Have the chance to sit down with a CaPS Counsellor to get personalized feedback on your CV and cover letter. Details below:

7) Make Your Own Appointment at CaPS!
If you cannot make one of these sessions or did not sign up in time for an Individual CV Consultation, CaPS (Career Planning Services) offers a free drop-in service for CV Consultations during the following times:
* Monday: 14h30-15h30
* Tuesday: 13h30-14h30
* Wednesday: 14h00-15h00
* Thursday: 10h00-11h00
* Friday: 11h00-12h00
Drop-in sessions are for 15 minutes and registration for Drop-in is on a “first come, first served” basis. Registration begins 15 minutes before the drop-in session begins and you cannot reserve a spot in advance. If you require more than 15 minutes of help, you can make an appointment with a Career Advisor. You can call CaPS at 514.398.3304 to make an appointment with a Career Advisor.
