1) “Office Hours”
As you all know due to closing of the Wilson Hall basement the NUS office was closed down. While we are still in transition to finding a new location there has not been a chance for office hours. We have decided as a council that this is something that is vital to students and we have brought back office hours for the month of November. On Tuesdays from 13:35-15:25 and Friday’s from 11:35-13:05 you will have the opportunity to meet with council members in Wilson Hall Rm. 104. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, purchase tickets, etc. Website is to be updated shortly stating which council members will be present at which times for your convenience.

2) Master’s Info Session, November 22nd at 16:30 room 110.
Snacks will be provided!
Questions? email –> marianna.martello@mail.mcgill.ca (BNI) or emily.kristensen@mail.mcgill.ca (BScN)

3) McGill Nurses for Global Health Meeting
When: Tuesday November 8th 4pm
Where: Wilson 104
We will discussing some upcoming events for the rest of the semester and next semester!
All students are welcome!

4) Humanitarian Aid Speakers
On November 17th, 6-8 pm, SAMA will bring you 3 speakers to discuss the benefits and downfalls of humanitarian aid. Our speakers will draw on personal experience to help students understand the good, the bad, and the ugly aspects of international development projects. Humanitarian aid has recently received some questionable feedback about its pertinence. The panel discussion will attempt to explore the realm of aid work and allow students to question its effectiveness. All are welcome; food and drinks will be served at the event. A small donation would be appreciated. Hope to see you there!

11) SSMU Referendum
The end of referendum period is on Thursday. It is imperative that the SSMU Referendum reach quorum (which is 15% of all undergraduate students!). For this to happen, please send out notification on your faculty list-serves of the referendum with the link (ovs.ssmu.mcgill.ca) and the following blurb (or something similar):

The Fall SSMU Referendum period is here! Two student groups (CKUT and QPIRG) are running referendum questions asking students to affirm their continued existence at McGill.
Inform yourself on the issues, and vote now at ovs.ssmu.mcgill.ca
Online polls close Thursday at 5 PM!

This is not necessarily an endorsement of a yes or no vote from your faculty association — although you are welcome to do so — it is simply encouraging students to vote.

Questions or comments regarding SSMU Referendum may be directed to VP External Angela Herman at angela.herman@mail.mcgill.ca.
