1. Booksale

Save money and the soul-crushing experience of buying books new- buy used books from other nursing students!

NUS will be hosting a booksale to buy or sell used books.

When: Friday Sept. 9

Where: Wendy Patrick Room – Wilson Hall

Time: 12:30pm – 4:00pm

How does it work?

If you want to sell books

Come to the NUS office on either Sept 6 from 12pm-2pm, or Sept 8 from 3pm-5pm to drop off your books where you will give us your name, contact information and asking price for books. We will sell them for you in a first come first serve manner as well as by price range. Meaning if you bring your books to us first, your book will be sold first out of other books marked at the same price. We will then contact you after Sept. 9 to tell you where you can pick up your money for your old books.

If you want to buy books

Bring cash! – books can not be bought with debit or credit.

2. NUS Elections

The NUS wants you! The NUS currently has FOUR vacant positions.

Elections coming soon to your classes for class rep positions if you are in U1 of the BSc(N) program and U2 of the BNI program

If you are in U0 of the BScN program and are interested in running for a class rep position please email nus.nursing@mail.mcgill.ca

If you are interested in running for the VP internal position please email nus.nursing@mail.mcgill.ca

There will be a class visit and election happening tomorrow (Sept. 6). McGill NUS will be going to Leacock 232 at 10am where everyone will introduce themselves and hold the election.

In case there are not enough players to have a team in a sport you would really like to play, you can attend the free agent meeting which is on September 6th in Tomlinson Hall (gym) at 17h00 for flagfootball, ultimate, ice hockey and outdoor soccer. For the other sports, the free agent meeting is on September 12th same time, same place.

Cost is $45 or $65 depending on where and if you have certified in the past.

5. SIGN UP FOR NURSING EXPLORATIONS CONFERENCE. – NOV. 10, 2011

Note: Special student “bursary” price of $35 (taxes included) available to the first 100 full-time students who register and pay by credit card using the online registration system because of sponsorship received from Fondation Roasters!

Once the 100 spots have been sold out, then students will have to pay the reduced fee of $75 if they wish to participate. This $75 fee covers our costs for food for the day, as registration includes morning coffee & croissants, AM refreshment break, luncheon and PM health break.

Kindly note that online registration will only open after Labour Day!
